I've read some very interesting books so far this year.

Mig Pilot: The Final Escape of Lt. Belenko

Fulcrum: A Top Gun Pilot's Escape From the Soviet Empire
(by Alexander Zuyev)

Monster Hunter Vendetta (by Larry Correia)

The first two books are about two Soviet fighter pilots who defected. Viktor Belenko defected by flying his MiG-25 Foxbat to Japan in the mid 1970s, and Alexander Zuyev defected in his MiG-29 in 1989. Both incredible stories of heroism, culture shock, and the evils of communism in practice, coming from the mouths of two men who were supposed to be highly respected and important in their society.

Monster Hunter Vendetta is the sequel to Monster Hunter International, by the same author. Both are fiction books which tell the story of a man who became a monster hunter after being attacked by his boss-turned-werewolf. Very fun books to read.
