For me that's part of New Order's charm. Bernard saying "stuff convention" and coming out with the worst vocal's of the 80's. I love the stuff.
Also, their appearance on TOTP for Blue Monday has to be one of the worst live performances ever. But I love it! I almost think they screwed-up on purpose.
