Broken Pipe errors are actually quite common in Linux. They relate to the way the connection has been closed and dismissed and the state of the buffer. Essentially the listener closed the connection and for whatever reason SHOUTcast hasn't been notified, so the OS throws a sigpipe signal.

If you are having trouble, staying connected gather tracert's during the trouble times, network problems are not trivial to fix. Note any latency between you and your hosting company and notify the necessary party.
