I need a little help understanding stream path

First up, I have a happily running stream on the server that streams out from another computer on my network, Quantum Radio, through the sc_serv running on this machine. It's on streamid_1. I'll put in the conf file, makes it easier.

I can listen to that stream with this link.
code:
http://www.quantum-radio.net:8000/listen.pls?sid=1

Or indeed I can listen with this link.
code:
http://www.quantum-radio.net:8000/listen.pls
. Which seems to be the default name.

Now the second stream set up now on this server, is streaming a completely different source, from a beta streamer (SAM for Mac) on this computer. It's going to sid=2.
I can listen with this link this link.
code:
http://www.quantum-radio.net:8000/listen.pls?sid=2

If I go to
code:
http://www.quantum-radio.net:8000
I can see the two streams, and select either one fine.

Not to confuse the issue...
The "main" stream path, as listed on the AppleTV Radio stream and others, is via Spacial. plays here, based on the stream from the main server running SAM Broadcaster Pro.
code:
http://listen.spacial.com/api/listen/?sid=65701&method=sc&rid=1187760
This stream in no way connects to the Port:8000 server, but to this one.
code:
http://www.quantum-radio.net:8080/listen.pls

However - there are a couple of glitches in this apparently working setup.

the second stream, With a player name of Triple-K, happily playing away on id=2, doesn't appear on Shoutcast.com, and if I listen on Audiorealm.com, it actually picks up the Quantum Radio Stream, not the Triple-K stream, seemingly defaulting to streamid=1 ?

So, how do I ensure that the stream from quantum-radio is fixed on id=1, and the stream from triple-k is fixed on id=2 and more importantly, that connecting streaming services like shoutcast or audiorealm can see that difference?

If stream path is the answer, I can't see how to implement that?
thanks for any ideas

banfile=/Users/robert/ShoutcastDNAS/control/sc_serv.ban

streamid_1=1

;
;flashpolicyfile=/Users/robert/ShoutcastDNAS/crossdomain.xml
;
; This is the second stream, currently for testing.
streamid_2=2

backupfile=/Users/robert/ShoutcastDNAS/It_Don_t_Mean_A_Thing.mp3
;
streamauthhash_1=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
streamauthhash_2=xxxxx actually the same code as the first one xxxxxxx

using the same authhash for both streams (especially when they are different) is why you're not seeing #2 listed - as it's being counted as #1 in the YP.

you need to make a different authhash if you want Triple-K to appear.

as for what's being played, #1 and the instance on port 8080 are playing the same output and #2 is playing something different. whether what is playing is correct or not I don't know as all I can go on is what i'm able to hear.

finally, the 8080 instance should be using the same authhash as the main stream (even if it's an intended relay) as a) the information is not the same as the 8000 instance and b) it means that the DNAS aren't being correctly clustered together.

Very odd behaviour from two streams

I know this is a Shoutcast forum, and the thing is I'm using Shoutcast's sc_serv,conf

On Shoutcast directory, it's fine. I have Triple-K and Quantum Radio streaming and showing no worries.
but....

I have two streams to Audiorealm.
1. Quantum Radio
2. Triple-K

If I now display Triple-K, I see this for example, the track currently playing and streaming.
Artist:Jason Carter & Hossam Ramzy
Title:Miracles Of Coincidence
Time:5:12

Which is correct - however...
The actual audio, is the audio from Quantum Radio ???? How does that work.?

It's picking up the track title, artists etc, but the wrong audio.

Now, as I know that Audiorealm is practically dead in the water, it's probably not worth the effort of trying to figure it out, but out of interest I'm wondering how that situation could arise?
and wondering if there is a guru on this board who may have some idea of how the stream and the metadata are separated?

Thanks for that. Once I worked it out. I think Chinese is easier to understand sometimes :-)

But anyway, I seem to now have the two individual streams on Shoutcast.
Both on :8000 but,
1. Quantum Radio :8000 /?id=325142 <- incoming from the primary server on the network.
2. Triple-K :8000 /?id=304813 <- generated on this same machine

So far so good. I must sit down and study the authhash docs again

i only see stream #1 running at the time of this reply so cannot say if it's "correct" now or not.

it's quite simple, one authhash can be used for all instances of the same station (128k MP3, 64k AAC, etc) and you need a different authhash for each station (otherwise they all look and are treated as the same station).

I'll work out streampath etc myself

Ok, forget all that.

I need an example of

streamid_
streampath.
streamauthhash.

used in a live conf file. If possible.

Thanks.

i cannot make sense of this or your other thread at the moment (giving me a headache from the wall of text) as it's just rambling and with information put all over the place.

how you had things previously with 2 streams on the 8000 instance was the best way to do things (as i don't know why you also had to have a 8080 instance but you're clearly trying to run before you can walk and are just confusing yourself and anyone trying to read your posts).

if you want one station per DNAS then make sure that 8000 and 8080 are getting the correct stream from the source being used - the DNAS has no control over that, only you can control such matters.

so get one stream running as you want it (e.g. Quantum to 8000 #1) and then work on the second one (e.g. Triple-K to 8000 #2)
