SC_Trans delivery to IceCast
I'm posting this both here, and in the IceCast forums as well...
We have a client who is using sc_trans to encode static files from a playlist and push it out at different bitrates as a sudo live stream. However, in order to accommodate logging and real-time data requirements by NPR Digital and Triton, we will need to switch their streams over to IceCast. The catch is that they want to keep the sc_trans portion in place. So, my question is.... Since IceCast can be configured to ingest a ShoutCast stream from a live encoder source (i.e. ShoutCast DSP, etc.). Is there an sc_trans config mod which will allow IceCast to ingest a feed from it in the same way? Cheers, Dave |

as much as I'm not keen to reply to this, sc_trans output when running in legacy mode is the same as the Source DSP in legacy mode and so should be able to connect as long as the correct login details are specified.
that's about all I can say on the matter since we don't support Icecast usage. what are the specific reasons which are requiring this transition? (other than licencing companies being a compete pain in the what not) |
