Current Track Problem

Hi,

I'am currently accessing a radio station using the ShoutCast API and I can see the current track for stations by accessing this URL: http://api.shoutcast.com/legacy/stationsearch?k=[My ID]&search=[a station]

However it seems that the current track information is often wrong and changes far too often.

Anybody else noticed this problem?

it depends on the station and what version of the DNAS they are using as to how good the information is.

if using a v1 DNAS for the stream then the title reported can be up to 10minutes out from what is actually playing since the v1 DNAS only updates the title to the YP when it is touched.

if using a v2 DNAS then that will generally update the title when the title changes and so should be a minute or so out at most.


i take it you're doing something like comparing against what is reported on the DNAS status page vs the API response to come to the above observation?
