Barix Instreamer -> Virtual Server

I've got a stream set up currently on a physical server through a sound card but it has been a while since I set it up. I'd like to send my audio to a barix instreamer and connect to the barix from a virtual machine and then stream it out to my listeners. I've been looking over the forum at barix posts for a couple days but can't figure out if this will work and if so how.

I would need to use shoutcast to stream from the virtual machine to my listeners. In shoutcast I don't know how to point it to the IP address of the barix or if that is possible?

not knowing how it works, i cannot say what you're meant to be able to do. from a quick search i found http://www.chezradio.com/index_htm_f...st%20Guide.pdf which seems to show how to do it but how that relates to what you're actually using i don't know - as barix has to be the source for the DNAS server.

I looked at the PDF and I found some other articles online and I think I understand how to configure the barix box but I can't figure out how to tell shoutcast to get the audio from the IP of the barix box.

i think you're getting it the wrong way around, it's barix which needs to be told where to send the data from it to the DNAS server as barix is the 'source' for the DNAS server (as i don't believe it acts as it's own DNAS - if it did then you would be able to get the DNAS to pull from barix like a 'relay').

Barix Instreamer to Shoutcast

I've look over the forum here and I'm familar with the pdf on Barix setup for Shoutcast, but it's just not clear enough on Radio path and port numbers. I, like "ThePreWitt", want to take a Barix Instreamer, input an external audio source and use it to stream up to a shoutcast account that can then be put on a website via an embedded media player. Could you provide more details on the settings necessary to get this done.

barix instreamer 100 has lots of settings to mess with
but you may want to stream as a shoutcast stream from the barisx
or as a RTP or BRTP or icecast or internet radio.

if you can't figure it out you can email the barix support
and they will tell you what settings you have to make.
