RAM is enough for "a lot"
bandwidth per month is enough for a lot BUT - for number of concurrent listeners, need to know your upstream bandwidth i.e. the SPEED of your upstream, in kbps or mbps, not your QUOTA "If you don't like DNAS, write your own damn system" So I did |

from your host
once you've found this ... divide it by your intended bitrate ... that's the maximum listeners you can support e.g. streaming at 128kbps ... if your upstream bandwidth is 10mbs ( i.e 10240kbps) you can support 10240/128 = 80 listeners absolute max good luck with your search for upstream bandwidth "If you don't like DNAS, write your own damn system" So I did |

In addition to jaromanda's calculation, I like to divide by an additional 1.1 to account for network overhead.
So I would do: 10240/(128*1.1) = 72.72 You can not support 0.72 listeners, so you should round down to 72. Again, I do this because a line will almost never support it's theoretical amount in my experience. |
