I agree with Simon - I'm not really hot on the colours. I think solid grey makes people feel somewhat ambivalent about what they're seeing. I think the light grey is alright (since everything in that shade looks a bit pipe-like), but perhaps a new colour is needed for the dark grey. If you prefer to stick to the current colour scheme, then I'd suggest desaturating the dark blue just a bit, as it stands out a bit oddly agaisnt the other colours. The light blue is fine.

Is that a flower beside the preamp bar? That's really cool! If anything should be coloured in this skin, maybe just that part (am I harping on colours enough? ). I love the Cbuttons, the long bars underneath the viz, and the floating bar above the main. Looks tres slick!

As for a name suggestion, I can't think of any. My cleverness factor is always low before breakfast. I would relate it to water running through pipes, or the flower growing through all the pipes in the middle since those seem to be the overriding themes for me.

Yeah, very impressive. I agree about colouring the flower, but I don't think that dark green works too well. Apart from dark green being an extremely uncommon colour for flower petals, there are many colours that go much better with blue, such as yellow.

The Red one defintely is too bright.

No offence, but mspaint is for the ignorant and the masochistic. Don't know which one you are, but get yourself a real paint program. If only for the time it will save you.

Okay, please take the following for what it is: ideas based on a very specific, personal interpretation of your skin. This skin may be just a random design, but this is what I saw from the beginning: a flower growing amidst a man-made metal setting, being sustained by the metal pipes bringing water to it (or I guess it would if the blue continued up into that area between the preamp and eq bars).

Not too "out there," eh?

Anyway, that's just an idea. As to the specific colour issues: I'm not that fond of the red version (for the obvious reasons). If you want to stick with the grey, how about a blue-grey? I think blue-grey would look better than the dark yellow/green bg in the second screenshot, which clashes a bit with the bright blue.

As for the tree, call me crazy (it's easy, I know), but it still looks like a flower to me. The center "bit" on the top row looks like the "core" of the flower (forgive my lack of terminology, for I am so not a botanist), and the other five "bits" look like petals of a sunflower or wilting daisy. Try colouring the "core" brown and the leaves yellow or the core yellow and the leaves white (or any other colour combo) just to see what it looks like.

Despite all my nitpicking, I really do like the skin!

Name Suggestions:
irrigate / irrig8 / irrigation
hydroponic
valvic (bad play on 'volvic', as in the mineral water)
metal meander
pixel pipes
oblique flow
trickle

All quite poncy apart from 'trickle', depends if you're into technical-sounding names (can you tell I am? ). i just thought of piping, water and the valves on saxophones, that sort of thing. can you tell i didn't spend that long on it?

Really like this skin for the way the detail 'flows' through the controls. Always have respect for folk who actually use Paint to make skins (although I do think this could be a totally knock-out skin if you applied some Photoshop lighting effects to it).

The new background colour gives the skin better harmony and makes it a bit more restful, which is good. I know you've changed the flower a lot already but I agree totally with Not In Santiago (you're not mad mate, don't worry! ) that the flower should stand out as the one living thing growing amongst a mass of metal. So it should contrast with the blue not blend in with it. It should look more alive basically. Good work though.

well... i think the color stick out too much. What about coloring it purple or blue again and not pink ? I don't like these bars beneath the vis area, too. Suggestion: make it plain blue

btw, this is coming from a person who made almost two skins in mspaint - and considers himself having being a total ignoramus for having done so.
