Description of problem:

I have problem creating a m3u file for my shoutcast.
I've setup a Shoutcast 2.4.2.167. This is running fine (on machine 192.168.2.106).
My Router (With WAN IP 84.132.177.213), route the received request to the Shoutcastserver machine.
I can access the stream by LAN (http://192.168.2.106:8000/) and WAN (http://84.132.177.213:8000/).
Also, I created a listen.pls, which i uploaded by ftp to my webpage.
The Content of the listen.pls:
----
[playlist]
NumberOfEntries=1
File1=http://84.132.177.213:8000/
Title1=d1w3 Privat Radio
Length=-1
Version=2
----
I can download this and run it with a shoutcastclient on windows phone.
Then I created a m3u file which has the following in it:
----
http://84.132.177.213:8000/stream/1
----
Which I also uploaded by ftp on my Webpage.
But this is not working.
I tried several stuff, but always this is not working on IPhone and Mac

Thanks for help.

I just tested it again with the following content:
----
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,http://84.132.177.213:8000/
http://84.132.177.213:8000/
----
This is what Winamp exported. But this also didn't work.

your webserver has to return the m3u with the correct mime type -- audio/mpegurl or audio/x-mpegurl -- either should work, but browsers may respond differently to each.

your dnas will provide its own self referencing m3u as well -- /listen.m3u on a v1, and /listen.m3u?sid=n for v2 dnas. the dnas will also provide the correct response with mime type header.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I will try tomorrow with the mime type.
But will the self refering work? I think they will respond with localhost/127.0.0.1 which will not work, because the it has no relation to the routers ip.

when the dnas creates an m3u, it will use the ip that is used in the request -- so if you call the dnas with the loopback address, the address in the m3u will be the loopback address, if you call the dnas with its public internet ip, the stream link in the m3u will also have the public internet ip.

Hi,
Thank you so much. I now got it solved by using a html page refering to the dnas created m3u. Perfect.
