I am not sure exactly what it was, but it was made from 2.2.6 to fix One single problem someone was using but broke some others things. Just because it has a higher version number doesn't make it better. It should be considered Alpha at best. 2.2.6 is the recommended version.

(I would have to dig through IRC logs to find the full problem description).
