M4A rating tag not working

M4A tags don't work for me in Winamp (5.666 at the moment). I have the M4A files rated in Windows 8.1 File Explorer. Unlike the MP3s, M4Aa rated in File Explorer are not rated in Winamp. Also, when I rate the M4A file directly in Winamp, it doesn't get saved.

Is this a bug? Or is just so that Winamp doesn't support rating tags for M4A files/containers?

Yeah. I've seen that thread before. I didn't learn much from it. However, being unable to tag m4a in mp3tag, lead me to MediaMonkey which turned out to be everything that I searched for in archiving music/media since many years ago. Tagging works like a charm for ALL media files, and is readable everywhere. There is absolutely no reason to bother with anything else. At least not for me.

m4a tagging works fine for me. I had some issue with dropbox erasing m4a files before and also anything downloaded from youtube as m4a is m4a DASH which the current winamp can't read properly.

Because I still didn't know about MM when I asked the question in OP.
There are multiple threads on it, and no working solution really. At least I didn't find one within few days of digging around. There is always a chance that I'm daft though. But still...

Cheers
