Jump to Playlist (is it possible?)

I've got my winamp setup with RM-X, to use my RM-1500 remote to control winamp. Everything works fine there, but I really want to map the numerical keys to my playlists. So that when I hit '8', my playlist with the 80's hits starts playing. Then when I hit '5', another playlist starts playing.

Is this possbile? And if so, how do I do it?

Can your remote use global hotkeys?

Use activewinamp.
once youve installed that, download the newest CVS file HERE.

Now you need to know how to make .vbs files and save them in your winamp\plugins\script folder.

Set mi = Loaditem("C:\path\to\file\90s.m3u")
Playlist.Clear 'If you wish to clear the playlist first.

copy and paste the code to a text file. change the directory to point to one of the playlists you want.

save the text file as 'playlist_load 90s.vbs' in the scripts folder. This should change the file format from .txt to .vbs, make sure you are not hiding common file extensions in windows. (in any windows window > tools > folder options > view > hide common extensions)

After you've restarted winamp, in preferences > global hotkeys > your new scripts should be there. Can your remote use global hotkeys? good luck, hope I helped.

you can read more on ShaneH's activewinamp plugin by clicking his link below in my Sig. there are alot more examples of what you can do on the activewinamp wikipage.
