nah, you dont really need all that. using onRightButtonDown in the first place and including the 'complete' part will eliminate any problems

A useful little tidbit.

The <vis> element appears best when it's width is a multiple of 18.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this (if it isn't, tell me where can I post)

I'm making my first skin and I'm stuck with eq, ml and pl windows. I took a piece of code (i don't know nothing about XML) from a skin that I guess it would open those windows but htey don't.
Could you help me?

For future reference, no, this really isn't the place for general questions, this thread is more reserved for Tips & Tricks to help your fellow skinners. Generic questions should go in generic threads.
To open those windows, you need ToggleButtons as outlined here.

Exclamation Flashbutton Library

//Flashing Buttons by Hammerhead
//
// How to use:
// -----------
//
// Add this line under where you include std.mi:
//
// #include "flashbuttons.m"
//
// Include 'loadFlashButtons();' in your onScriptLoaded, and 'UnloadFlashButtons();' in your onScriptUnloading.
//
// Now, any button that you want to flash on left click, make a Flashbutton, eg:
//
// Global Flashbutton myFlashButton;
//
// Flashbuttons behave just like normal buttons (aside from flashing) and use the normal 'onLeftClick()'.
//
//Have phun!

Example Script:-

code:
#include "../../../lib/std.mi"
#include "flashbuttons.m"

Global Flashbutton myFlashButton;

system.onScriptLoaded(){
loadFlashButtons();
}
system.onScriptUnloading(){
UnloadFlashButtons();
}

myFlashButton.onLeftClick(){
}

mkey..
I made a small addon today, which adds a rightclick menu to the Repeat button, where you can choose the Repeat type the button should have.

I thought it could be useful and it's something I'd like to see in Wa3 (either added to skins, or hardcoded into Wa3 itself)..

I made it as an addon, so it would be easy for people to check it out, but the source is included for anyone to use..
It's meant to be used, just give credit.

Download it here: www.tehplague.tk

I hope it will be used often..

Re: How to gammagroup TTF and bitmap fonts

Hello skinners, it seems I have come across a way to color theme fonts, both bitmap and TTF. It's not easy though, and Winamp might have this fixed in the next public build, so it's up to you to decide if you want to go through the hassle.

The key element here is the "General" gammagroup. Thanks to ThePlague for pointing out this group to me. This gammagroup will color EVERYTHING, including all fonts, with the values you specify.

To start, create the gammagroup "General" with the value you want for the fonts:
PHP Code:
<gammagroup id="General" value="2304, -2176, 3584" gray="0" boost="0" />
Then to get everything else back to it's normal color, you have to cancel out the values in "General" with opposite values:
PHP Code:
<gammagroup id="player.metal" value="-2304, 2176, -3584" gray="0" boost="0"/>
You have to do this for every gammagroup you have defined, and also system gammagroups (search for "gammagroup" in *.xml files in the WACS folder to find all of the system gammagroups). You then use the cancelled values as your starting point to get the color you actually want.

Following the example above, let's say you actually wanted the gammagroup "player.metal" to have a value of "1000, -500, 2000", it would come out like this:
PHP Code:
<gammagroup id="player.metal" value="-1304, 1676, -1584" gray="0" boost="0"/>
The only side effect I've found so far is that this method colors EVERY font throughout the skin. You cannot specify a specific font color for a specific font.

There is a bit more discussion of this technique and a list of system gammagroups put together by iplaythespoons in this thread: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=124408
Alright, I just thought I'd let people know that font's can be colorthemed now, incase you didn't know.

I'm not sure this method works with bitmap fonts (haven't actually tested on them) but it sure as hell works on ttf fonts!

Here's what you do:

in <text> objects for example, you have the option of putting a color parameter to color the font. do that, but instead of putting the RGB values in that parameter (color="255,255,255"), put a element id in it (color="this.text.color") and then make a color element to match (<color id="this.text.color" value="255,255,255" gammagroup="Some of the fonts"/>).

Cool huh?

oh, and the <vis> can be colorthemed aswell by putting gammagroup="vis gammagroup name" inside the <vis> tag itself, along with the coordinates and analyzer/osc/peaks coloring..

About time! Yeah I saw that the text elements were getting themed in the new modern skin and was intending on checking it out. Thanks for sharing the info.

I'm modding an official skin for my own personal use (and possibly to pass along to a few friends). This skin includes a photo gallery. There were originally only 5 pictures in the gallery. I have added more, and even switched up the original order of the photos in the pictures.xml. It will only display the first 5 listed in order (though not necessarily just the 5 original ones). I know this has to do with the maki file because I removed it and the reference to it in skin.xml and it changed things with the photo gallery (it wouldn't let it go beyond the first photo), though it didn't fix the problem. I think I'm going to need the maki file decompiled and edited to allow all the photos to be displayed. It would be good if whoever might help me with this would send me both a compiled and uncompiled version just in case I ever decide to tinker with it again in the future. Thanks a lot.

duh... i agree. dont mod official skins. fellow skinners here will surely allow you to mod their skins(most of 'em), but official skin is a NO-NO.

Okay, I'm a moron then

I wasn't gonna take credit for it, I just wanted to include more pictures from the series in the gallery, but oh well. Guess I'm just gonna have to keep dreaming about it since I can't even make it for me...
