Everyone who got the new test version should download the even newer test version ! (version 0.5)
Will has updated some code there.
now it remembers the settings (icluding screen luminosity) and it has a new about box, + some bug fixes.

it's the same url with the same password.
enjoy

hey YOU, be careful with the sarcastic remarks

anyway, you got a point there, I will fix that.
I noticed it but thought it looks good as it is now and it's not a priority.
btw, the screen luminosity is applied to the EQ and thinger screens too.

now check this baby:

I finished the EQ graphics and coded what was left on my own

I'll be the first to say that yes, the graphics arent incredibly complicated or anything like that; but they are sleek and they suit the skin

and the coding rocks all

My opinion is that a good skin should never be complicated.
Boom looks really good to me and many other people, I'm very satisfied. I will still fix some inprefections after will has finished coding the control panel.

PS: Some testers couldn't even find how to set the screen luminosity, boom is complicated enough.

u can change the screen luminosity?

it isnt that BOOM is complicated, it's that the coding is complicated, when you open it it comes out of the box and all that, the undocking and stuff, of course the images for those things are very well done an im not saying its bad, i lik eit quite a bit and will keep it, but the coding is what makes this skin, if it had plain coding liek every other handheld, it would be just that, a plain handheld

but the coding+the graphics for this make it a remarkable skin, a definate keeper and a nice pat on the back for Adil and willfisher

maybe you coul dmake something that isn't a handheld one day?

haha blueballs I didn't even think about that
both boom and now neojb are made to resemble real life music machines.....so yeah what about one that doesn't resemble anything but a skin?

I personally like realistic designs, I'd never use a skin that's based on some abstract forms or colors and that doesn't respect the laws of physics

so you dont liek originality? youde rather do things that have already been done so that if you screw up something u have sort of a template on how to fix it?

i mean i like BOOM, and NeoJB, but I also like things that havent been done before, such as futuristic stuff, i mean greta movies have done things that defy physics such as Hellraisers and Event Horizon, those things could never really happen but have you seen those lovely gizmos in those movies? impossible yes, cool yes, original, oh yes.

all im saying is defying "laws" isnt bad, these programs for editing were built with one thing in mind...no limits. BOOM and NeoJB are original in their own way, but they are still just the same as any other handheld, to make a real mark, make something original, something people look back on and say "wow i wonder how he came up with that"

as much as that sounded like a flame, it wasnt.

All this mention of Probe is really bringing me down. I thought Luc was working on it for the RC's.. Anyway, to BOOM. I really like the EQ, especialy the lighting on it, all those shadows and the glare. Everyone says the coding is excelent, and even out does the graphics...well I guess it's to bad that I haven't been able to check out any of those features, but I wouldn't mind doing it right now if you catch my drift Adil.. please.

BlueBalls, the pyrox, I understand why you bitch about originality and stuff, you're in freeform feaver after years of rectangular stereo design with wa2 but you must understand one thing, boom is an original design, nothing inspired me for it and I didn't meant it to be a handheld till I got the idea for the undockable part.
neoJB is based on jukeboxes but I didn't copy any jukebox design that already exists.
the pyrox, don't make me say things I never said, Probe is one of my favorite wa3 skins, it has been designed with intelligence and realistic ergonomy (exept the drawers).

now tomato face, catch me on a messenger for the test version. (before you become ketchup if possible )

I think will is almost done with the new features and control panel... Then, I'll fix some minor bugs in grfx and release the skin.

Don't get me wrong im not bitching about it, i think its an excellent skin, in fact im using it right now and i hate WA3 cos it always gives me problems, but BOOM doesnt seem to give as many problems as any other skin, so its obvious something was done right, and its fun to use at that, especialy the undocking part because it saves space, my point was just that every handheld (well..most) have been original like you say BOOM was, a design of ur own, but everything is a design of its own, you hafta make it urself, its ur own design. i like BOOM, i just wanna see something REAL cool, and ur right, ive been stuck to a rectangle, but not for years, only for about a month or so. but somebody (i forget who) once told me that is "unbelievable wha you can do inside of a 275x116 rectangle" i stuck with that and i think im improving in my abilities but with WA3 you dont have limitations which is why seeing so many handhelds kind of upsets me, when you can make anything you want, people go right to handhelds, its just strange, even though all those handhelds are incredibly well done, including BOOM. I say congrats on the skin, everybody likes it, im just not crazy about handhelds, its my personal opinion

/me isnt going to count his spelling mistakes this time
