Playlist Entries with Special Characters

Hi folks, I just spent the last couple hours trying to solve this, and I apologize in advance if this question has been answered already. This is Ubuntu 10.10, I'm debugging most of this in bash remotely over ssh. I setup a sc_serv and sc_trans pair, and added some songs into my main.lst file, and it will play SOME of them, but it seems to be choking on filenames that have square brackets "[ ]" in them. I unfortunately have named my entire music collection using this syntax.

Neither of these entries will play, with relative or absolute pathing:
../music/Electronica/[Juno Reactor] Pistolero.MP3
/home/username/Music/Light Alt/Imogen/Ellipse/[Imogen Heap]01 First Train Home.mp3

While both of these will:
../music/Electronica/Trance/Hybrid/Disappear Here/*.mp3
../music/Electronica/junior senior/d-d-don't don't stop the beat/junior senior - move your feet.mp3

The log files are saying:
2011-03-28 17:48:43 D msg:[PLAYLISTMGR] New entry ./playlists/../music/Electronica/junior senior/d-d-don't don't stop the beat/junior senior - move your feet.mp3
2011-03-28 17:48:43 D msg:[PLAYLISTMGR] Relative path expanded to ./playlists/../music/Electronica/[Juno Reactor] Pistolero.MP3
2011-03-28 17:48:43 W msg:[PLAYLISTMGR] The playlist entry ... Pistolero.MP3 generated no entries

I've checked the relative path, it is accurate and I inserted extra symlinks to make CERTAIN it could find it. I've also tried quoting and escaping the strings in several different fashions. Why is it choking on square brackets, and is there a work around?

I need to know what else makes the playlist not play some songs, besides brackets "[ ]".

I always run my tunes through a meta data program and mass remove any funny business. Its also good to encode all your music the same too.
