Winamp AudioPlayer, winamp.msi

hey winamp users,
when ever i start winamp i get an error message saying,

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."
"Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'winamp.msi' in the box below".

And I have to cancel it several times before it goes away, which gets rather annoying.

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Winamp doesn't use the Microsoft Installer. If you downloaded a repackaged version of Winamp, or got it from an untrusted source uninstall it. Make sure you install the offical version from Winamp.com.

Thanks for the tip but I just downloaded the file from this (official) website -actually I tried both the spanish and english version- and right after the installation it keeps on asking for this winamp.msi file which seems to be unavailable.

Any ideas?

You are right. Uninstalling the older version and then a fresh installation will be helpful. I hope it will fix the problem...
