Ok, why no play double click or select enter?

real basic windows install, with no other media controlling program only windows controlled media player.

First act was to set winamp, which wips the lama's ass, as default then >control close >shut down >restart, cus it make windows happy, but then, still not able to "double click" or "enter" to instigate mp3 file to play in winamp, it opens winamp to desktop but file not in playlist playing.

I have to select and drag drop, press play to play song, So I then go to >media library >options double click or enter options and cycle on/off options shut down restart several times changing one variable at a time. No dice double click or select enter only opens winamp. Help

You are missing what version winamp you have. Sounds like you need to select "Enqueue files on double click" under General Preferences -> File types
