Microphone Winamp passthrough to use Visualization

Here's the scenario(I'm on a laptop in a music studio):

I use the microphone setting on to pickup our band playing and want Winamp open to pickup the microphone (or Line In) so I can use Winamp visualizations. The laptop is hooked up to a projector so it is projecting the visualizations of our music on a wall.

I've done this before where I entered a string of text in the open URL area and it opened the sound port to essentially 'passthrough' Winamp to utilize visualizations.

That's pretty much right, as it's covered in this helpful guide in the Tech Support Greatest Hits forum. You just need to choose the mic input in the recording volume control instead.
