How to use ID3 ratings

I have read probably the whole internet but I was not able to find an answer to this question. How do I use ID3 ratings? If I rate a song in Winamp, then copy the mp3 to another computer, play it there using winamp, I want to see the rating.

I want the rating to be inserted directly into mp3 file. Is this possible?

if using v5.65 - preferences -> media library -> 'options' tab -> check 'Save ratings to file for compatible formats (default: off)' and then (re-)rate any files as needed.

u can also sort by your ratings column and mass select each star range, (using shift key) and "re-rate" them all at once.

and, you can specify your email addy in the rating by configuring the in_mp3 plugin.
