How do I take away the fading option??
I have recently switched to version 5.03, which is really fine but has a feature which drives me mad - it plays playlists automatically fading out and fading in the next track, and I don't want that! I want just an ordinary playback of files, one after the other, until the end. I have spent hours in examinating all the options of the menu but have not found anything to change this. Is there a way to do it, or shall I have to go back to the previous version to be able to play each mp3 until the end? Thx

You can find crossfading options here:
Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Output > double-click DirectSound output > tab Fading Select each 'event' and uncheck 'Enabled'. 5.03 is quite buggy. If I were you, I'd upgrade to Winamp 5.08d (not 5.09 yet; wait for 5.091). [edit] Hey jmatthews ![]() |

It's likely you have DirectSound's (output plugin) fading in/out enabled.
Go to General Preferences > Plug-ins > Output > DirectSound > Fading > choose "on end of song" and uncheck 'enabled.' Click Apply and OK and play a new song. Your problem should be corrected. *You may also want to disable "on start," "on first start" as well.* hope this helps, jmat [edit] ...too late ![]() |
