Vulgar Videos on Facebook

In the past 12 hours, a virus has been running rampant in Facebook, carried by WINAPM. This latches on to an individuals' account and sends a 'sexy video' to everyone in the address book (whether it be a parent, peer, sibling or child

). The virus also intalls WINAMP. I have advised all friends to disable WINAMP. I had never heard of this application/software before today so can't think how it got on my system other than this virus, and I must say that I am very unimpressed with what I have seen.

What do you mean by "carried by Winamp"?
There's no viruses on our site or in our software.
If Facebook's been hacked and someone has included a dodgy setup of Winamp with their virus package, then that's something for Facebook to fix. There's nothing much we can do about it, really.

Though I've been on Facebook all day and haven't come across it yet...
How are they sending it? Via email or something?
And people are actually opening the attachment in said email...?

Did some looking around while DJ was replying and found this. That is the only reference I could find at this time.

The real Winamp is media player software for Windows, not an Facebook app and is unrelated to the Facebook virus/spam mentioned in this thread. The "real" Winamp does not carry the virus.

Yeah, just searched google, and it's some dodgy Facebook app that the idiots decided to use our name for.

Pretty shocking that Facebook allows apps to be published without checking/approving them first.
Hopefully they'll remove it asap.
