Winamp - ID3v2.3 - extended / metadata tags
Why can't winamp 5.61 read ID3v2.3 extended tags?
I would very much like to add my own external ratings / information. I have added extended tags using MP3Tag, and they are recognized in VLC media player. But not winamp. Please advise, M. |

winamp reads id3v2.3 and 2.4 just fine.
u prob have ape tags or something else getting in the way, or you are using non-standard frames. winamp writes ratings if enabled in prefs. PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/ -- BUG #1 = Winamp skips short tracks Wish #1 = Multiple Column Sorting Wish #2 = Add TCMP/Compilation editing |

the library will not recognise the search as 'youtube' is not known (it only works against values it knows which is basically what is available via the column selection).

OK,
Are there any known plugins that expand search functionality to include custom APE tags? M. |

nope, it's something which can only be done in the library plug-in itself and as it's only intended to support common parts of ID3v1/v2.x tags it wouldn't be a simple thing to make it be able to cope with any tag value.
