How many simultaneous listeners does Shoutcast support?

If you are talking about YOUR station, it is however many you can support with your connection, or however many you are paying for from a 3rd party DNAS host

yeah, i'm back.

I read somewhere that with a 256k connection Shoutcast supports only around 10 listeners with a reasonable quality. I just want to know if I expect 100, 500, 1000 simultaneous listeners, if I can still use Shoutcast (and if there is a cost for that) and maintain a good quality. Can you help me with that?
Thanks a lot.

Use this listener calculator and this bandwidth calculator.

As you will see from using the calculators, if you're expecting lots if listeners with great quality, your best bet is a third party DNAS host.
