Funny thing about Curve. The newer albums hook you, but you end up loving the earlier and earlier albums more.

I was the same way. I heard Come Clean first, and it caught my ear. So then I went out and bought Doppelgänger and become completely hooked on that album even more.

I actually had gotten Doppelganger from Cylob and had a listen, then deleted it. I heard a track from Come Clean on last.fm one day and loved it. Every few months I rediscover another older Curve album, I might have to go track down pubic fruit one of these days.

Now you're talking, Pubic Fruit contains some of the best tracks ever written. Check out Coast Is Clear, The Colour Hurts, Galaxy, Die Like A Dog, Blindfold....

Yep, Scor. She played bass on their farewell tour after original bassist D'Arcy Wretsky left the band after recording "Machina / The Machines Of God" in 2000.

Album of the moment:

Politics Of Dancing 2 - Mixed by Paul Van Dyk (2005)

Excellent trance stuff, perfect to maintain the "I wanna kill my boss" mood at work

Any good? The last Sonic Youth album I gave time to was Experimental Jet-Set, the choice of 5 CD inlays always fell out every time I opened the case.

Toyah - 1979 - Sheep Farming In Barnet

I overlooked it as well when it came out. Jet-Set was lame, in '95 other things were a lot more exciting (Drum&Bass, The Aphex Twin's move from analog to digital, Tri Repetae, oh and Stereolab), and Sonic Youth were much too 'Rock' (which was completely and utterly dead at that time).

In retrospect Washing Machine and A Thousand Leaves are definitely worth checking out (whereas I'm not convinced by the latest two albums that sound too much like they're trying to copy Daydream Nation).

Did you ever hear Hendrix Necro, B-Side to 100%? It was the most fucked-up slab of noise I owned at the time (well, apart from Dalliance by The Wedding Present). 10/10 material.

µ-Ziq - 1995 - In Pine Effect

One of the precious electronic albums I can hear clearly over "Chucklevision" in the room next door. Not that I've got anything against comic genius.

My favorite µ-ziq cd is Urmur Bile Trax, probably the most energetic record he ever made, plus it was 60 minutes for the price of a single (hardly beatable in those dark ages before p2p).

Actually they've got their moments as well, as long as you don't expect anything really new from them.
