Local Media View
Well, after 8 years of Musicmatch I gave it up to try(and buy pro version) of winamp. I am beginning to feel I made a $19.95 mistake. Live and learn.
As brief as possible: I am a musician/MS Computer Tech. I do not use online music I do not download online music. I only use winamp for local media(appx 4,000 MP3's. Beefs Bigtime: Should be option for folder view(folder being an album or artists albums) as in Musicmatch. I hate all the shoutcast, other online junk in my way. I want only local media. I really believe to make your product good for all, these are easy options to program in. M$ tries to be everything to everyone, I wish you didn't do that. I am afraid I will be switching back to Musicmatch(I have a lifetime serial #. Frank Luke |

Set the smart view (right click->edit view) to artist/album view for a folder-like view.
Un-install ml_online if you don't want the online services. also, nullsoft is not trying to trick anyone. the computer is never at fault for an error; a human is, though. DO NOT PM me for tech support. No matter what you're doing, use the right tool for the job! |

Thanks for the reply and info. I never said they were tricking anyone? Smart View helped, I do not see anyway to uninstall the online stuff, but of course, I am an idiot as you were nice enough to point out so it stands to reason I cannot find the option.

preferences (ctrl+p) > plugins > media libary > select nullsoft online services, click the button that says uninstall selected plugin, and hit yes.
also, you are not an idiot, you are just new to winamp. hey, i don't know all the fuctions either. the computer is never at fault for an error; a human is, though. DO NOT PM me for tech support. No matter what you're doing, use the right tool for the job! |
