Friendly hosting company in EU?

Hi,

I have few 1and1 servers located in Germany. I'm wondering if anyone here is running SHOUTcast using the same provider and their experiences. These are all CentOS(linux) virtual cloud machines (/w root).

I need to be able to scale my server for the following - any feedback on RAM/CPU/HDD needed would be appreciated. My provider gives unlimited bandwidth, so I think I should be good there as far as bandwidth goes.

S1: 50 listeners at 128kb
S2: 100 listeners at 128kb
S3: 250 listeners at 128kb
S4: 500+ listeners at 128kb

Also - any recommendations on licensing for copyright music? If my server is in Germany, my listeners in Czech, who do I pay for it to be legal?

My provider gives unlimited bandwidth

that only makes sense if you refer to QUOTA as bandwidth ... but no such thing in terms of "SPEED" ... the bandwidth (per second) HAS a limit ... 500 @ 128kbit would require at least 64mbit PER SECOND upstream bandwidth

Also - any recommendations on licensing for copyright music? If my server is in Germany, my listeners in Czech, who do I pay for it to be legal?

where are you streaming from ... i.e. where is the source of the stream ... that's where you need to pay licensing I believe
