It seems like 5.666 Full B 3516 is the latest Winamp release and there is no new releases since then.

Anyway, I have already downloaded it and thanks a lot for your assistance.

I hope that Winamp recovers and becomes one of the top media players again.

lets be honest. As a product in development, winamp is well and truly dead.
Yes it still works, and it does what it used to do. But time has moved on. We've all been waiting patiently as developers have come and go, all being positive that our once amazing product will be revived to a new champion. I for one have been a loyal user for about 20 years, but the interest has dwindled to nothing. I used to check this forum regularly for updates, but after a few years of "its coming" it becomes futile. Now I check every few months in the hope that there is a glimmer of progress, but nothing.

With teenage boys able to develop apps really quickly these days there is no defence for product development to take many years, unless the owners just really cant be bothered. I guess radionomy weren't interested in winamp and only wanted shoutcast......shame.

If I were Frankel I'd buy all of Radionomy, bc it would be a small piece of his net worth.

Why not buy it and see what u can do with it? Sounds like fun to me.

It saddens me that Winamp has basically died. I wrote two plugins to solve issues that are basically still not available on other platforms such as VLC. Add to that Tomass' DSP plugins and the SqrSoft Advanced Crossfading plugins and I have yet to find a fully featured player. My primary player for streams and "one-off's" is VLC but when I want to play a large library of music, I still go to Winamp.

Don't know if it was posted here already but AudioValley still claims there are plans for a new version. I dunno, who knows... Winamp with integrated Deezer/Spotify?

I have no ear for music, so I did not check it myself, but I read that the Winamp MP3 decoder is not of special quality and therefore it is better to use foobar2000. At least for now as an alternative.

Neither decoder is of special quality. They both accurately decode what's there (unless you're still using Winamp 2.65 or older that is).

I mean, just to say something which I'm sure has been said a million times on this forum; still using Winamp in 2021 and yet to find something which is its equal. I'd happily pay a few quid for an updated version..
