WinAmp Bug: 5.666 Build 3516 bug (never seen before...!)
Hey all -
I've been using Winamp...christ, for years. Ever since the 2.X versions! Anyway, this morning - I get the following error when trying to use Wianmp (Windows 7, latest Service Pack). Winamp client version: 5.666 Build 3516 winamp caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module ntdll.dll at 0023:77bbe6df. Exception handler called in Winamp. Error occurred at 10/5/2016 14:05:24. C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\winamp.exe, run by Mike. Operating system: Windows 7 (6.1.7601). 8 processor(s), type 586. 17% memory in use. 0 MBytes physical memory. 0 MBytes physical memory free. 0 MBytes paging file. 0 MBytes paging file free. 0 MBytes user address space. 3921 MBytes user address space free. Write to location 00000014 caused an access violation. What I've tried to do: 1. Restore the computer back a few days (although there have been no updates of any kind). 2. Removed Wimamp, Rebooted, ReInstalled Winamp (with a new download of Build 3516). 3. As per another thread in here, moved pmp_usb.dll and pmp_android.dll to a "backup" directory, to see if it works. The program loads, but if you try and DO anything...boom, crash. ![]() The program seems to want to email a report.zip, but I use Winamp pretty frequently. I've never had an issue before today - ever. Any ideas wtf's going on? |

might as well ask, did you also install the in_mp3.dll patch?

scroll down you will see a patch for in_mp3.dll that you need to install. "-[in_mp3] Some mp3 files cause 5.666 build 3516 to crash. Use in_mp3 from build 3512 instead (installer also available) *" or here's a direct link (┛◉Д◉)┛彡ʎɯouoıpɐɹ Current status of Winamp: (Winamp 5.8) is not an ongoing project ![]() 5.8 beta issue quick fix - Install 5.666 (there's no further 5.8 releases) |

Hi ProgScape,
That in_mp3.dll is not the only patch made to the 5.666 Build 3516 version of Winamp. I suggest you download the installer that contains all the patches and run it to bring your version of Winamp up to a fully patched state.
