how to play ogg files
From the vorbis website (http://www.vorbis.com/setup_windows/) I learn that winamp plays ogg files by default.
There is no info telling me to install any additional codecs on my windows system first so I installed winamp but cannot play any ogg files, neither those downloaded from their website nor the ones I myself encode via oggenc. The title gets shown in the playlist with a length of 0:00 and that's it. Do I have to enable ogg via some plugin or did the guys from the vorbis site miss to provide info on having to install any system-codecs first? See my winamp log attached, thanks. |

You don't seem to have the vorbis plugin installed.
Rerun the installer and make sure "OGG Vorbis Playback" is checked under Multimedia Engine -> Audio Playback. You'll be good to go then. |
