Shoutcast iPhone App v1.2.1 streaming over 3G broken?

Hi there,

I hope this is the right spot to report this problem. I recently upgraded my iphone shoutcast app to 1.2.1 and almost all of my favourite shoutcast streams fail to stream over 3G.

I'd like to suggest there may be an issue with Shoutcast iphone app v1.2.1 that may need to be revisited.

Please update us ASAP.

Thanks

hate to bear bad news its not the app but the 3G provider. it can happen from time to time where you can listen to one or a few stream or none at all.

can you be specific as to which ones are not working ?

search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn.

Actually, there are a number of similar complaints on the app store reviews for this app. It is just TOO conincidental that right after the update the streaming stops.

As a point of reference I just downgraded to the previous version and all is working again. There are now several reviews on the app store warning users not to upgrade shoutcast.

Thanks

v1.2.1 is no longer, v1.3.1 is now the version available -> http://www.shoutcastblog.com/2011/05...und-streaming/ so might be an idea to see if that is an improvement. if not then will see who / where issues need to go to (i don't have / use an iPhone so i'm never going to be able to look into any issues directly).

based on what's in the twitter feed, it seems like a fix is being worked on /pending going live to resolve the issue (though i'm not 100% on what is going on with the app).

also it seems like streams upto ~64kbps might be ok with the current versions of the app. so i'd guess it's related to the issues you're seeing (not being an iPhone owner i don't really know).

No problems here. The allowance of high bit-rate streams (64k+) is turned off by default in the app.

Just turn it (high bitrate streams) back on in your general preferences and you will be fine.

For what it is worth, I've got an iPhone 4 with 1.3.2 installed.
