Chromebook

Will Winamp run on an Acer C710-2487 Chromebook with a Celeron 847 1.1 GHz CPU, Chrome OS, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, a 320 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive, & an Intel HD Graphics Card?

I have an Acer Aspire D255E with an Intel Atom N450 running Windows 7 Starter & I love Winamp because it has organized my collection of .mp3 files of opera & other classical albums, now approaching 60 GB. Winamp is easy to understand, runs smooth as silk, never crashes & I don't want to lose it but Windows 8 seems to have driven Acer out of netbooks. I like the price, portability, security & other features that a Chromebook offers but I don't want to lose Winamp. Can anyone give me first-hand experience that will confirm Amazon's claim that Winamp will run? Thanks.

Winamp runs on Windows, it does not run on Chrome OS as you'd get on a Chromebook.

A Chromebook does work if you use shoutcast.com.
