Winamp crashes with certain DLL's in main directory

Support DLL's:http://hcs64.com/files/vgmstream_external_dlls.zip
Main plugin: http://hcs64.com/files/vgmstream/

Place the plugin DLL file in to the Plugins folder.

Place the 3 Support DLL files that the VGMStream plugin requires, in to the main Winamp directory (Alongside Winamp.exe) and try to run Winamp, Winamp will immediately crash.

Remove the 3 DLL files and Winamp will now work fine, however the VGMStream plugin will not load as the DLL files it depends on aren't installed.

This is not an issue with previous version of Winamp (5.65).

Windows 7 x64, Service Pack 1 with latest updates.

am aware of the issue (from 2 other users last night) and am looking into what the plug-in does differently to cause the issue.

Just to make sure, the 3 DLL files that go in the same folder as Winamp also cause the Winamp Safe Mode to operate erratically.

I mean sometimes Winamp, even in Safe Mode, won't load properly while those DLL files are present and will sit in the background consuming resources until you close it via Task Manager. Other times you'll see the Splash Screen before it hangs and other times it will successfully open.

is a double-sided issue in in_vgmstream (due to it trying to associate maybe 250+ file extensions) and a number of required changes with extension handling in 5.66 which don't play well.

the r1016 build helps by lowering the number of extensions but that doesn't resolve the in-Winamp issue. that is why even safe mode is acting up a bit with the plug-in(s) present as it's causing a memory corruption.

i've posted a bit more about this on hcs's forum.

And like I've confirmed on the HCS forum, the recent re-release seems to have resolved the issue (I've skipped over the r1016 build of in_vgmstream and gone straight to r1017 which undoes the work around in r1016).

If there are any more minor re-releases before the product dies, let me know either here or on HCS forum (Prefer HCS), it would be appreciated.
