Can't Play M4A Files
Hello,
I can't seem to play any m4a files on Winamp. Is there a plugin that can allow me to do this, or am do I just have the configuration wrong? Thanks! |

Yeah, the plugin comes with the Full installer. Download it, run the installer and make sure you check the box for MP4 support.

I can't play .m4a files either in 5.552. VLC, IT both do. I'm sure MPEG4 was loaded in the setup. in_mp4.dll shows in the input plugins. Just get "end of playback".
I just uninstalled in_mp4 and carefully reinstalled Winamp. Did NOT do the trick, still won't play. All I can think of is I recently updated IT/QT, removed QT (again), then loaded QTA (again). This couldn't cause the problem? |

Reinstall of Winamp 5.552 Full completed. No other plugin loaded except Nunz 4.0. Open in Winamp still won't play .m4a files. Just the 'end of playback' balloon. The m4a's do play in VLC, QT, and Itunes. plugin hijack dxdiag logs attached (could you delete these after you are done?) Winamp still kicks the llama's butt! THX |

Oh. It is ALAC. Winamp can't play that with out an extra decoder which you can get in the Winamp Essentials Pack.

get a program called "gspot" and check carefully what codec the file uses and if it has the right extension for it. PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/ -- BUG #1 = Winamp skips short tracks Wish #1 = Multiple Column Sorting Wish #2 = Add TCMP/Compilation editing |

Opened a .ogg file in GSpot and it looks like ffdshow audio decoder is being used
Also in the system tray is the ffdshow icon and Haali Media Splitter icon Winamp still does not play ogg |
