Windowshade mode on bottom of screen
I am trying to use Windowshade mode (just a bar across screen) on the bottom of my screen, but when I try to expand it (restore regular window) the window expands downwards and off the screen. I have tried checking the "Collapse window to bottom" option. There is no change in behavior, even after rebooting and switching from top to bottom again. Is that what that setting is for? Or is there no way to make it expand upwards?
I am using the Bento skin on version 5.56. Also if I dock Winamp to the bottom, it completely disappears when I try to expand it. Please help. I would really like to have the Windowshade down below. ![]() |

Try docked toolbar mode with Auto-Hide off.
Using the Bento skin? Options (menu bar) > Window Sizing > uncheck 'Link shade and player width' |

Hey thanks for the suggestions. Unchecking autohide fixes the dissapearing issue when I dock it, but if I goto autoshade mode and drag the bar to the bottom of the screen (just above the taskbar), it still expands downwards and off the screen when exiting autoshade mode.

If you dock in normal/restore or maximized view, Winamp will respectively undock as such.
Also, make sure to disable 'Link shade & player width'... Options (menu bar) > Window Sizing > uncheck 'Link shade and player width' |

I understand. Docking works fine. Im not trying to dock winamp though. Not across the whole screen anyway, and not at the absolute bottom. What Im trying to do is shrink it to windowshade mode, move it down the screen just over the taskbar and be able to "unshrink" it without moving it back up the screen to be able to see it. I guess it's hard to explain, so I'll include a couple of screenshots. Basically I'm looking for an option that tells winamp it's in the bottom right corner of my screen.

OK, I see now.
Unfortunately the only way to prevent Winamp from restoring beyond the edge of the screen, after going out of WindowShade mode, it to use the docked toolbar mode. |

It says "URL submitted by user." in my last reply. Am I not allowed to post URLs? Well here are the two images just in case. I don't see an "upload" button either. Only one pic per post?

Oh, sorry. I didn't catch your post. Well, thanks for the help. Is there somewhere I can submit a feature request? What would I call this feature? Also, is there a way to dock it above the taskbar? Whenever I dock it, it goes to the absolute bottom of the screen and over my taskbar.

Moved from Winamp Tech Support to Winamp Wishlist
I can't think of a specific name. However, it sounds like when going from WindowShade mode to normal view you don't want Winamp to restore beyond the edges of the screen. In other words, when toggling out of WindowShade mode have Winamp appear in a predetermined space. |

so where are we with this feature request please? I have the exact same issue!
When my winamp bar is at the very bottom of the screen, and double-click on the bar to expand the main window, I'd like the main window to expand above the bar (since it is at the very bottom of the screen) and not below the bar, which makes it un seeable. |

nothing has been done towards it - anything in the wishlist is never guaranteed to be considered.

Collapse Window To Bottom doesn't work
I think perhaps rather than adding a new feature you could fix the bug that exists: when trying to check Options > Window Sizing > Collapse Window To Bottom, nothing happens and the options won't change.
I assume that this feature would actually cause the Shade mode to collapse to the bottom of the screen, which in combination with Always On Top (now working), would be fantastic as the shade tends to get in the way of the Minimise, Fullscreen, Close triptych of other windows. This is re Winamp 5.623 |

Options > Window Sizing > Autoresize Main Window if Maximized
That should fix your problem. A few years late, but I just encountered the problem this week and figured it out. |
