Winamp 5.666 Trouble after Windows 10 update
Hello Winamp community,
I am not sure if this is really a bug in Winamp. For years there were no problems with Winamp 5,666 until one of the last Windows 10 prof updates. Now the following inconsistencies happen after the start of Winamp: 1. A separate window with the Equlizer (Skin "Windows Classics") pops up outside of Winamp additionally. It can not be closed. 2. In the playlist, the font colors set by me are no longer correct after the start. I use the style Bento with "default". The font is bright green now. Nevertheless, I always have to manually select the Color Themes "default" again to fix it. 3. The boot process takes a few minutes (instead of seconds before)! Therefore, I completely uninstalled Winamp 5.666 (including cleaning in Roaming DIR & Regedit). A new installation after that does not change the situation. Also the installation of Winamp 5.8 (3660) does not change anything. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? Best regards Orbis |

I made the Windows Update "2019-09 Kumulative update für Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based systems (KB4515384)" today and the problem was solved. Winamp works normally again and starts as fast as before the trouble. Just do the same and inform me if it worked. Good luck! |

Actually I am using Winamp 5.601 and Windows 10 Pro version 1903, but I got the same problem.
Winamp used to start instant, but now it takes around 30 seconds to start. I uninstalled, reinstalled, same thing. I use only default plugins, that comes with winamp, nothing extra. |

the update that was installed just before winamp took more time to start up is the one that is causing this.
uninstall that update, install winamp again and it should run as smoothly as before. |

Ok, but how come only winamp is having this problem? BSPlayer, VLC, etc is working as before, without problems.
I think there is something on winamp that is incompatible with Windows.. |

maybe try the WACUP version of Winamp if the Windows update hasn't fixed it for you.
