Mine has just been my handle on the net for some time now...it's ambiguous and vague without being excessively generic, and it's a good way to increase the confusion level of a conversation, especially among people who like to express the word "someone" as "some1."

I'm sure it probably also says something about my psyche, but who knows?

long answer- my original handle was "the_spiflocator" on the internet (still my email...) but then people began to confuse my with a guy on a chatroom i used to go to (he was called "spliffy", the chatroom was called #scotland), so i looked through my really old sketches on school notes. one day we'd been making up words. my favourite was "zgroggrozootm" - beacuse i like the letter 'z'... so i shortened it to the part of the word i thought sounded cool...

short answer- i think it sounds cool.

I somehow got the nickname joe john in my school band. I don't play the banjo. My name is Jonathan so I have no idea why John is spelled the way it is... shouldn't it be Banjoe-jon?

i cannot seem to choose a single "name for anything on the web". i originally wanted my name to be just Æ (another thing that i just suddenly decided on), but i found out you have to have three characters minimum in you name. so i opened up character map and took the code for that spanish upside-down exclamation mark. put it in the front, and then put a ! after the æ. only afterwards did i discovered that Æ was an icelandic ligature. i just wanted tech support in the first place, so i didn't go too fancy with the name. nowadays, i'm fine with the name. here's how to type my name (numlock on, must have numeric pad):

alt + 0161
alt + 0230 (0198 for uppercase)
alt + 0033 (my über1337 way

[edit] btw, i also have a grudge against trailing numbers in my names [/edit]

[edit2] another question and answer from me. why did you choose your avatar? my first avatar was the opera logo, but something told me that was stupid even tho i'm a die-hard opera fan. so i did a stupid text trick and made my current avatar (conjoining of cyrillic D and E), but it was black and white. the new colors are supposed to resemble the greenlandic flag. i'm not from greenland, but i like to pretend i am

I chose my avatar because it was the easiest thing I could find.

usually when i'm at lans and stuff, my name is 'dud' [for racing games where you can only have three characters, or 'nicki webster'.
i really like the latter, but no-one here except a few australian's would have got it.

I was reading on the history of the city of Avignon, France when I came across the name of citoyen Lescuyer. He defied the authority of the pope by ripping off a tract on a wall. For his courage and patriotism for the new republic, he was savagely assasinated by fellow townsmembers. I have always remember his story, maybe because we share almost the same name (I believe that Lécuyer is a derivate of Lescuyer) and I always liked the sound of it, it makes me think about this beautiful and adventurous time of the french revolution.

i know, i know, the typo. in a thread a long time ago similar to this, rm made a real good explanation as to why i might have picked this name(with the a instead of the i), and as i am too lazy to search it and quote it, i will just say, without really remembering what exactly the post said, but i just remember it made me sound all cool and mysterious, that, indeed, was the reason.
