Log into Stream
Currently I'm streaming off my linux server 24/7. But there are sometimes shows performed by various DJs. They would go to the admin page and quickly kick off the source (sc_trans) and then connect so that they would their shows. When the DJs are complete, they would simply disconnect, and the linux server would reconnect itself and continue with its stream. My question is, is there an easier way through software or coding to have DJs log into the linux server for their shows without going to the admin page? I hope you can understand my inquiry.

You can construct a link to kick the source.
http://IP:PORT/admin.cgi?mode=kicksrc&pass=PASSWORD Replace IP with your DNASs ip. Replace PORT with your DNASs portBase. Replace PASSWORD with your DNASs password. |

I've noticed that when the DJ kicks the source and logs in, couple things happen. The stream freezes on the current listeners, and when they reconnect, the stream is presented in 24kbps, when in fact, it is suppose to be 128kbps. I've doubled checked with the DJs and they have all configurations and settings correct. Any ideas on how to fix this?

You might be experiencing the 24kbps bug.
Do any of the DJs use soundcard input type and do they all use encoder 1? Check out the Sticky post titled: Known SHOUTcast Bugs: Status and Workarounds Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: DSP :: Encoder 1 Defaults to 24 kbps When Switching Input Device Bug |

Thanks for your help. Looks like this is what I am looking for. I didn't know there is a sticky for this.
