Notifier: resource hog?

It doesn't happen for every single song, but it happens quite often, particularly for songs with album art.

What happens is that the song starts playing and Winamp goes mental using 100% CPU doing something. After several seconds (8-20 or so) it stops and the notifier pops up and everything goes back to normal. Often the same 3 or so seconds of the currently playing song get repeated in a loop while Winamp is bonkers processing whatever is so intense.

I wonder if this has been noticed by anyone else? I'm using 5.52 on WinXP, 2.4GHz P4 384MB RAM and plenty of HD space. 1600 songs in playlist, about 40% with album art (some as embedded images, some with image files in the same dir, placed there by Winamp's album art finder).

No, I've not noticed this behaviour...
