"Play tracks similar to" spawns multiple dialog boxes

FAO: Developers

Please see screenshot.

All I have done is right click on an audio file and select "Play similar to"

This is the free version of 5.5

You have a busted gracenote database, but Winamp still shouldn't spawn all those boxes. To solve the problem you can delete cddbplm.pdb and cddbplm.idx from Winamp\Plugins\Gracenote (or %appdata%\Winamp for multi-user settings). Also, 5.51 was released yesterday which fixes many problems with 5.5.

Thanks for your reply. However I do not have the files you list. In C:\Documents and Settings\colin\Application Data\Winamp\Plugins\Gracenote
I have:

cddb.db elists.db

In C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\Gracenote I have

CDDBControlWinamp.dll CddbCMSig_1_3.dll CddbMusicIDWinamp.dll
CDDBUIWinamp.dll CddbFEX.dll CddbPlaylist2Winamp.dll
CddbAFX3.dll CddbFPX1.dll CddbWOManagerWinamp.dll

I will try the latest code and see if that works.

Proposed solution.

I had the same problem today after upgrading from 5.5 to 5.51. This function always worked very well before.

Here's how I solved it:
Options --> Preferences (ctrl-P)
Plug-ins --> Media Library
in the list of installed media library plug-ins (loaded at startup) click on Nullsoft Playlist Generator (my version 1.1 ml_plg.dll)
Click "configure selected plug-in".
From there : reset your database (confirm to proceed), then scan your media library again.
It worked for me...
(see attached screenshot).

Your questions are welcome (of course).

Best wishes to all!
BradDavid

I forgot to mention: I'm an intensive user of the auto-tag feature. Maybe it screws the Gracenote db after a while? Anyway it might be a good idea to reset this db regularly.
