Filenaming problems

WinAmp build 490 will not work with filenames which have the following character: à . RealAudioPlayer had no problems with the same file.

winamp3 thinks that is a another language and would try and use internelisation to correct that problem.

the only soultion is to rename the files with that funny characters, or install internilisation.

And yet it has no problem with 'A Perfect Circle - Breña.mp3' and 'A Perfect Circle - Renholdër.mp3', without internationalisation installed in build #488

And I just tested a file with à in it and it worked fine with the same setup.

I'd be tempted to just call this an issue with the internal builds, go back to 488 if its a serious issue to you.

clarification to intial email

Your browser may not display the accent mark on top of the a - so it is not a simple a. Renaming the file worked, and although I downloaded and installed the internationalization, I guess I didn't have much luck.

Thanks.

My browser can display the à. (which can by typed by holding Alt and typing 0224 on the numpad)

And it still stands. In Winamp 3.0 final build #488 without internationalization installed, my computer can play an mp3 named àààà.mp3 perfectly, and whats more, has no problems with any character from Alt-0000 to Alt-0255.

Go back to #488 - it works.
