multiple instances with different preferences
first off, let me say how great this app is! Winamp has been around forever and yet it stays up with the current needs, and i love it for that
![]() I am using winamp in my house for distributed audio. I have two sound cards in my server, and have 2 playlist that are constantly playing. I use a switcher to change which source is played in each room of the house. Everything works great, until the computer is shutdown (power outage). Everytime the computer restarts and i restart the two instances of winamp, i have to go through the preferences to change which sound card to play the audio through. i am using the nullsoft directsound output plugin. I have found how to have two instances of the player, and how to create a class for each so they can be controlled independantly, but i can not figure out how to get them to go to the correct output sound card. I found this idea on the Girder website http://www.promixis.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20631 which talks about using a /INIDIR variable in the executable that will load a specific winamp.ini file with the custom configuration, but i can not seem to get it to work correctly. Does anyone have any experience launching multiple winamp instances with different output soundcards? Thanks! Drabert |
