no need for it. The defaults are all setup for you in the config that comes with dnas...

What are you having trouble with?

indeed it can be.

1. Check out this little tutorial, it may prove to be very helpful to you: http://www.allinternetradio.com/shoutcast.asp --- that should cover setting everything up (check your upload speed here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ --- this is crucial!).

2. Once you get it up and running, you need to make sure that your radio station can get outseide of the network in your house (only if you want the world to be able to listen). To do this, you need to punch a hole in your router's firewall. This link will help you with that: www.portforward.com

3. Once you have opened everything up, you need to know your IP address to give to others so they can tune in. Get your IP address here: www.whatismyip.com . Once you know your address, your listen link will be http://IP_Address:8000/listen.pls

In general, on a windows box the software you need to do this is SHOUTcast DNAS (http://www.shoutcast.com/download/se...tml#scdownload) and the SHOUTcast DSP, which works through winamp (http://www.shoutcast.com/download/br...l#plugdownload). Make sure you are using the latest (or at least 5x) version of Winamp to do this.

If you are trying to setup a Linux box, then you still need DNAS. You do not need the dsp, because Winamp does not run on *nix, but you do need a program called sc_trans.

If you are using a Mac (OS X), then use what the linux people use (DNAS and sc_trans).

Let us know if you run into trouble.

Good luck!

you need DNAS and the dsp (plugin). Simply run dnas (it is a program that runs all by itself after you open it) and open winamp, select the dsp, and have it connect to dnas (just press connect after giving it your password).
