Winamp Not Loading

When I try to run Winamp nothing happens. It shows in my task manager using 0% of the cpu but never actually shows up on screen. It stays there until I end task on it. I actually left it there for a few hours to see if it would eventually show or spit out an error but no luck there. No sound either.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled, clean installed(3 times now). Everything that I can think of but still nothing. Winamp worked fine before the upgrade to 5.5.

Running XP pro. AMD Athlon64 3500+. 4 gigs of ram. 234gigs free on the HD. NVidia Nforce onboard sound. Virus/adware scans clean.

Any ideas?

OK. I know you said it was a clean install, but was it a truly clean install following these directions to the letter?

And if it was a clean install, with absolutely no 3rd-party authored plugins, and the problem persists, then please attach a List Of Plugins (using DrO's One for Nunz plugin as outlined there) to your very next reply here. That way, DJ Egg or another Winamp guru can confirm that your problem isn't being caused by either some 3rd-party plugin or by some old Winamp component, perhaps left in the mix.

Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.

Followed those directions to the letter. Twice.
I have to run the stand alone version of nunz though because Winamp won't start.

Here is the output:
---
Generating Winamp plugin file report for Winamp version: 5.5.0.1640
Generated by 'One for Nunz (External) v1.0' on 11/11/2007 at 1:08:47 PM

If you see `Loading test failed' against an entry then there is a likely chance that the
plugin will not be correctly loaded by Winamp (is often due to a missing dependancy).
Visit http://www.dependencywalker.com/ for an app which will allow you to see what's missing.

Did a clean install again. This time even killing off any entries in the registry. Still no dice.
There has to be something I'm missing.

i have been having a similar problem with my new install of winamp. i am using windows XP SP2 on an Athlon XP 64 X2 5200+. below is the log of installed plugins, i have noticed that Winamp will load, if i try to run it a second time, meaning that for Winamp to load properly, there have to be 2 instances of the process running for it to come up.

I think I found the problem. I let a friend hook up his mp3 player to my computer and it appears that the software installed something nasty. MarkAny ContentSafer 3.

The user above me has it in their log too:
C:\Program Files\MarkAny\ContentSafer\MAAgent.exe
C:\Program Files\MarkAny\ContentSafer\MaCSMgr.exe

Installed with Samsung mp3 players. Took me a bit to get it removed (delete as much as I could from folder, stop process, delete more, regedit, reboot, delete).

Winamp now works flawlessly.
