Found two more Flash Players

These players seem to work well... one uses Jeroen Wijerings MP3 player (I think) and the other is from a German site...

http://www.myautodj.com/flash_player_generator.php (requires SWFObject - included in download link on the page)

Second Player from Germany
http://blog.codingexpert.de/?p=31

Hope this helps some folks looking for flash players....

for me some of the players start skipping after playing a few songs, any idea why this is happening? can the fact that some songs might have a different bitrate/sampling f. be a reason? I am streaming at 230kbps 44.1 MP3

If your using IC2, you can do streams in other formats as long as you do a call to the server for its codecs request for the player. Thats if you use the right open source player and make sure you code it as needed. And yes, Im saying without the use of a flash server.

It can get a little buggy at times if the casters bandwidth sucks. personal experiences during my trial and error phases.

My player

I have modified this one to play streams before they took the opportunity to do it themselves. This one is completely independent from their website so that there is no worrying about it getting deleted. http://script-it.net/music/player.zip

The problem with directly embedding directly into the integral site page is that when a person navigates away from that page the music stops. That's why they put the player in a popup.

Just a thought, feel free to ignore it.

I prefer to Iframe it. Takes that pesky stop problem away.

As far as flashplayers go?

Wavestreaming has one that runs on Facebook, and apps pretty nicely.

I'll eat snow on the devils doorstep before I pay their price for it. But for the buck, if your trying to go viral, not bad.

Time to hobble back to my lurking cave.

Got some messages to answer, its been a minute since I got back, and upon return I crash hobbycaster AGAIN trying to update to newest version of WP. Thats ok. I got a different plan for it. It's time.

When the flash players skip like that, try removing the intro file.... not sure why but it'll stop skipping

it's because the intro file isn't properly decoded to the stream data type (i.e. is just dumped in the stream) or if coming from a v2 Transcoder in the correct mode, it's synchronised into the existing stream data.

also in-stream title updates can cause that to happen (which at least is fixed for the next DNAS build) but otherwise is something fundamentally wrong with all DNAS releases which have supported introfiles (am hoping to get the v2 DNAS improved to not be a cause of that eventually...).

We added more language options to our flash players. Choose from fifteen different skins, set your own welcome message, and even set your own JS events now.

We provide them to all of our SHOUTcast server customers for free.

Flash-only players our becoming outdated.

because:

1) Mp3 streams in flash-player wont play in FF browser.
2) Any stream in flash-player wont play in mobiles/ipad using iOS (Apple)

to solve this:

Use a "dual-mode" player...it will switch between Flash and HTML5
depending on your visitor´s browser or device.
and therefore play in any browser or device.

Best and most versatile dual mode player i have found is "jPlayer"
it will do shoutcast mp3 streams and you can skin it yourself.

@Museter...to stay state of the art you might want to spend your energy
on building your players based on jPlayer
