Ok the advanced visualizations do work nicely, but they just dont work with music streams from places like shoutcast.

true..
I've noticed that too (good you cleared that up), is there anything you can do about that bartibartman?

edit:
about the thinger icons, I downloaded from winamp.com, maybe that isn't the newest version after all?
edit2:
I checked the xml, it has a rightmargin..
But the last icon I have (DejaVU Meter, which has an old default icon) doesn't look centered... Maybe it's just those icons..?

There is no major difference between 98 nw winxp when it comes to winamp, the only diff would be the alpha mode. bart I wish you had an english site lol. I love the site just cant read it.

New preset for you to add. I took the blue color screen from xbox preset and gave it the silver1 outside. I like this look alot.

code:

<gammaset id="silver1 | xblue">
<gammagroup id="Backgrounds" value="-1700,-1600,-1550"/>
<gammagroup id="Frontcover" value="100,150,200"/>
<gammagroup id="Display" value="-3000,1000,4003" gray="2" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="DisplayLabel" value="-1500,-1000,2500" gray="1" boost="1"/>
<gammagroup id="VISDisplay" value="-3000,1000,4003" gray="2" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="LED" value="-3000,0,4003" gray="1" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="Buttons" value="400,500,560" gray="1" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="ButtonsFront" value="444,500,644" gray="1" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="BackgroundLabel" value="4000,4000,4000" gray="1" boost="1"/>
<gammagroup id="FrontcoverLabel" value="-2000,-2000,-2000" gray="1" boost="1"/>
<gammagroup id="PosLabel" value="-100,-30,0" gray="1" boost="1"/>
<gammagroup id="CoverLabel" value="3000,3000,3000" gray="0" boost="1"/>
<gammagroup id="MainLabel" value="-4000,-4000,-4000" gray="0" boost="2"/>
<gammagroup id="Thinger icons" value="2020,2120,2220" gray="1" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="ThingerButtons" value="0,30,100" gray="1" boost="0"/>
<gammagroup id="Thinger" value="255,355,455" gray="1" boost="1"/>
</gammaset>

Thanks for the idea... added the xblue to silver2...

Still itching for alpha-blending and shadows... I'd edit it for myself, but there is too much code and I'm a lazy, lazy man.

Well, I'm assuming you'd have to expand the size of the skin a bit and add a dropshadow to the template background. You'd also have to redo all the sizes in the code to match the sizes of the edited PNGs.

Once again, I'm a lazy, lazy man. I'll leave that up to the author.

I'm using win 2000 and I have the same errors as Kordian:

* crash on exit
* not saving options (but this might be because of the crash-on-exit)

hey bart you've been quite ... any news on the new release..
i think skinners should make their skins with win9x first because if you use xp then you wouldn't know what's lacking in 9x. for example the font problem i've been having with many skins until i switched to xp...

Try deleting the contents of the db folder. Failing which, you delete the studio.xnf file AND the db folder. If both can't work, reinstall Winamp 3.

No, I'm not joking.

I had this problem with some other skins too, so I did uninstall and re-install winamp3 completely. The problem was still there.

But, now I've found what might be the problem: When I reinstalled winamp without internationalization all the skins worked again, with internationalization, some have this crash-on-exit bug.

I do use the default language Voodoo (even with internationalization), I just installed int.sup. to be sure winamp would play all my audio-files (even those with international-characters in them). Seems this sometimes breaks skins...

Talking MMD3 v1.2 beta

Quote:
hey bart you've been quite ... any news on the new release..
If I am quite I´m working hard

So here it is MMD3 V1.2
not yet completely finished but there are only a few small things to do...

NEW:
- Added a few more ColorThemes (Silver 3 series) - now altogether 79 CTs
- New Winshade Mode 2 (vertical, configure what you want to see (thinger,eq) )
- Added ColorThemes Drawer to winshade mode 1+2
- New bigger winshade drawers in horizontal mode...
- Advanced Visualization fix. Now AV works with streams from shoutcast
- Added a SYS-Button to the top-left corner of the component windows
- complete new script for Volume,Bass,Treble knobs (animated) Particularly coded for
ThePlague
Looks cool now... and the Volume updates smooth if you click somewhere on the volume
knob... THX to the plague for the great idea.

ToDo:
- Coding for Config menu in winshade mode 2
- Saving of the window positions for Main, Shade 1+2. Not working perfect at the moment.
- A new Animation for the Advanced VIS. I hate this first undefined thing with the wireframe. What do you think. Any ideas or wishes for a new animation?

Just another little question: Who is choosing the featured skins for the winamp-homepage??? I know it is a extern company. But wich company and why not nullsoft?

Download MMD3 V1.2 beta:

The new winshade draws are too big IMHO. somewhere between where they are and where they were in size would be better.

just my opinion.
