Yes, at that moment Winamp was only using 3% of your CPU, which I must say is rediculously low! It's normal for it to flucuate, but to be honest, I've never seen it that low even when minimized. I need to get me a computer like yours!

I like how you changed the down state for the buttons on the final beta... really made a difference. I hated the downstates that had light tiny little cutouts... grr

Lightbulb round size fix

This is for killerwebble, use the control menu on the skin. It lets you change the size (and opacity). You can make it pretty small, so go for it.

It sounds like some kind of core system process, quit it and see what happens.

I'm scared, wtf is 'strokeit.exe'?

AND, what the hell kind of processer do you have anyway?

I think it's some program for mouse gestures in Windows. Google for it.

"System idle process" is windows CPU cooling program, what it does is to turn off the parts of the CPU that isn't needed.
when it's in the 90's, it means almost nothing of the CPU is used, so it should BE high, it's a GOOD thing.
Don't turn it off.

You CAN'T turn it off.

Onto the skin: Excellent. I prefer the new buttons over the old any-day. It isn't using up as much CPU as other people are reporting, but more than the other skins I use (Mercury, Neptune, funny how that works, eh?).

Just curious, what is the button to the right of the LCD used for?

It was brought to my attention somewhere else that the lights don't work with streaming audio. It'll be fixed in the next update.

double click on the mouse icon by the clock, go to edit>>preferences; make the second option (only enable strokeit in configured applications) UNchecked. That should do it.

I had this proggy called Sensiva i think. you could tailor it to individual apps. It's the same thign as stroke it. I remember cuz I got it when Black adn White was all the rage. I used to draw W's on my desktop to pull up winamp. hehe.

awwwww that sucks, they sold out? *sniff* Ahh well. doesn't Opera have the motion sensing thing integrated into their browser?

sorry RPC for getting off topic.

But trying to shift back onto the topic (sort of) would it be possible to code mouse motion recognition into a skin? Can Maki handle that?

No, I meant things like a gesture for pause and so on, but I just tied it into a winamp hotkey prog.

A splash screen would be interesting, I don't have any ideas for it except I didn't like boom's opening animation.

There is away to do it i beleive. You have to set up your own program and commands. I'm not sure @ all how to do it, but I think you can do it somehow.

Here's a strokeit actions export file. It defines Winamp3 as an application, and has one gesture, p for pause.

Use it as a template to make your own action set.

Unzip and use StrokeIt to import winamp3.sxp.

RoNtZ is on a rampage throughout the forum!

I'm perfectly happy with 3rd place. I submitted an incomplete skin, so I knew I would get low marks for technical and the skins that took 1st and 2nd were good quality. I still got some good prizes!

Exclamation Updated Beta Available!

Hey guys, I have a new beta for you to play with. Nothing major new for graphics unfortuantely, only minor tweaks. The only new thing to see is the configure panel, but it has some fun things in it. You'll see I've been doing some math! ;-) I don't have all the coding done for some of the features I want in there, but this should keep you entertained for a bit!

Here's the download:
Download Venus_01-28-2003.wal (724KB)

This hasn't been thouroughly tested either, so let me know if you find any problems.

Thank you HH! Maybe I should have pointed that out specifically. In the configuration panel you can flip the visualizer horizontally, vertically, adjust the opacity of the vis, and enable distortion which lets you scale and rotate the vis in fake 3 dimensional space.

I'm going to try and carry over the distortion effect to some custom vis' I have in the works, should be neat!
