heh well technically it is a spin off. It's just set in a alternate reality so it's not cannon.

but anyways, that's besides the point.

Well i'm still working on the DHD, having a rough time of it, just can't seem to get happy with it *chuckle* happens.

Btw.. should we use a top town view of the dhd or use a perspective view?

Foxw, If we are going to do the easter eggs then we want to see the glyphs as best as possible. I say use your best judgement, and take all the time you need.

The atlantis gate has blue chevron lights which would make a great color scheme, also I think the gate is a bit lighter where the glyphs are on the gate, or it could just be the picture.

Atlantis series has great potential. It will be hard without RDA around with his humor. I never heard about the cartoon.

Actually from what i read the Gate will be Very different, same in general shape, but of course all the glyphs will be different as it's placed in another galaxy. But supposedly the Glyph area will not be on a ring, but instead sounds like some sort of funky holography system ... we'll have to wait till june to see.

Stargate Infinity is on the Fox network at like 7:30am est. But trust me.. it's worth missing.

and far as things like color changes.. one word for ya.. COLOR THEMES hehe

Color themes are indeed a very good thing. And it's easy to make em . Woudn't mind making some. And I am told I'm good at it. Don't see where the difficulty is.
Once we have the code the color themes are easy to make.

Talking

I love SG-1! In the episode tonight Carter was humming the SG-1 theme song in the elevator. The dialogue is great. It's stuff like that Atlantis will need.

Well, if (in the hopefully near future) I get a broadband connection I will send you the ones I record onto my computer. What is your "behind" area?

My roomate was supposed to split cable bill with me but bailed, now looking into DSL, but it probably won't happen. TV tuner cards to come in handy, especially for researching stargate skin information I haven't seen them all in order. Actually discovered SG-1 about year ago. I was extremely surprised there was not already a modern stargate skin.

yeah well Unlike "Classic" winamp.. Fan skins are not prevelent.

I'm in Canada (ontario), which puts me in a no Sci-Fi channel area, and since they picked it up they get first season rights to northamerica, so us poor slobs without broadband or a us cable signal are sorta stuck about 6 months behind.

But ah well.

/me has Dial-up, cuz it's only option i have.

I even have 2 different broadband connections one at home for the week-ends(have to share that one) and one fot my studies at my residence there. Both are extreme speeds(min 3.3Mbits/s).
How else would I have seen through season 6(as we here in Belgium are an entire season behind

dudes, here in Sweden, they havent even gotten to season 6 yet...
They almost never show SG-1 here and I think they've only gotten to like season4, so if I wanna follow the show, I have no choice but to download it..

First of all NICE! I think on the second the symbols are clear enough while keeping the perspective. If that will that be the actual size. If it will be smaller hard to say

I found the second more appealing. It's very nice(so is the first). Now that we're able to choose I would go for the perspective.

And Plague I downloaded the movies and the entire 6 seasons as well. Am wainting for a fine version of season 7 .

I hope they'll be there as I finish watching the epsiodes i got about 4days 6hours and 30 minutes of material to watch(If i watched continously).
I got through the first 3 seasons in 1 week. Once I start watching I can't stop

Hehe IceGod: I know that feeling.. in 3 weeks times I watched a total of 5 series (about 300 hrs total give or take [1 show was close to 200 eps long])

Okay I'll keep fiddling with it (as the final view will determain how many little details I add)

I'll try and post a single images with about 4 or 5 variations on it for the group to vote on, and which ever the group figures will be the most usable while being good looking, I'll run with and detail out

Oh btw.. I've choosen to leave out that pedastool base. I think it would just make the remote Too large to be really usable and well.. I'm really not sure i wanna tackle that.. well without going mad

The first one: the symbols near the back are more visible and it has very little aliasing compared to the others.

The world is made of conflicts: good and evil, order and chaos, light and dark, hot and cold. All are essential to life. None can prevail for any length of time, or life will fail. In the end, the best any can hope for is balance.

I have to agree with Nimelennar. The easter eggs depend on clear symbols.

the first one, no question about it.
Actually, if you could make one that has no angle at all, ie: you see it from the top, I think that would be even better..

Thank you IceGod.

Now i'll likly tilt the dhd a little bit and putt in just a touch of the base to give the impression that your standing over the dhd and that it's just not a floating top half.

There's something about the texture tho, I don't really like it..
The gate looks awesome and very realistic, but the DHD looks cartoonish...

Yeah IceGod, I know the PoO/control Dome is off color, i wanted to get the perspective right before I started color correcting and doing the little touchups.

Since you all seem to agree that it looks right I'll start on the details and touchup's

Plauge: yeah i know, it's still a work in progress, Still need to add all the little details, course from the pics and schematics i have of the dhd it's design is alot more simplier then the gates (which was very orinate in comparison).

Also the texture is the same as the gates (the schematics stated that the same texture is used as on the gate)

looking very good!

two things: the orb should really be more red

the texture around is so green. i think it's lloking more gray in the series. try how that would look

Frozen skins: Gravestone Betaskins: Mushroom ::-:: The Claw
In development: TechnodropFinished: Draculas Helmet (<-- still waiting for some color themes!) ::-:: Hal's eye

hehe Thanks Rontz.

Yeah I know bout the PoO control dome being off color as well as the rest

(as i said to Plauge, wanted to get the overall design right before i started color correction)

----------------------------

side note: wow, I'm really not used to this (having praises) *Laugh*. Usually when i post something I get alot of "bites, don't like it" types (want a example, check the untitled link in sig hehe).

Okay guys, how's this look.

so you all know I did it split, one side show's regular state, the other show's "button hit state"

I've tried to replicate the light up effect the buttons have when thier pressed since the were using the buttons in a "gate dial mode" we'll need them to show what they have dialed.

The only thing I would say is can you make the HIT state color more like the color of the activated chevron on the stargate-fin.

Sure VCS.. that shouldn't be hard to do at all, the hit state is something I'm messing with though coding it should be interesting since I think i'll come down to in code actually having the Dial button pads as 2 seperate images, one for the "hit" light and one for the actual button (since some of them will alter thier glyphs depending on if the dhd's running in Gate or Media mode)

Oh yeah.. btw, those of us actuall apart of this project should prolly exchange IM info for when we get to the point of doing the easter eggs, so they remain mostly hidden so ppl can hunt them out.

I think the lights in the "hit state" should be more orangish. As should the orb. The color in the "off state" should be as red as it is in the "hit state" now.

At least that's what I think.

Sending IM for the easter eggs is good idea not to spoil them.
