WinAmp crashes when sorting playlist

I have a massive collection of SID files that I use with the SidAmp plugin. I have created playlist and subdivided them into categories alphabetically according to letter. Some of these collections range from 400 to 3,500 files. However, when open up a playlist and attempt to sort them by file name using the MISC - SORT - SORT BY TITLE function, WinAmp crashes instantly. Why?

sidamp is ancient. 8+ years old

sidplay2 is still old(and possibly buggy) 3+ years old

i can't reproduce your problem with my winamp so i'd say that one of your third party plugins is to blame for the crashes.

I think you should ask the developer to update his plugin for the new winamp.

Hmmm...strange, WinAmp has no trouble playing any SID file, it only crashes when I attempt to sort them, could it be that WinAmp just has difficulty sorting such a large number of files in the playlist? In, the meantime I'm looking for an updated SidAmp plugin.
