"unable to load bass.dll'' critical error

Hi

This what happened to Winamp after latest update: whenever i want to choose or even config some visualisation, notification pops "unable to load bass.dll'' and Winamp immediately freezes.
How do i fix it?
I know... New, clean installation would probably fix it. But i really don't want to go through application configuration ...

is that a gospel album?

look in the winamp program's directories like plugins or shared, and delete the file or rename the extension for the file called bass.dll

There is bass_winamp.dll file in plugins folder, no bass.dll can be found. And renaming it didn't work at all...

so, first, make sure winamp is closed.

second, you can either totally delete the whole file, OR rename the extension, OR add yet another extension. thats what i do. so for example:

gen_jumpex.dll became gen_jumpex.dll.old so as not to be deleted when i installed 5.8

anyway, check ALL the winamp directories for ANY file with the word bass in it, and do one of the options i just said, then restart winamp.
